I crawled under it and it looked around. I’m not a trained mechanic though and missed this hole. With the suspension under normal load it’s really hard to see without looking around the A arm.

I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t say it was as-is up front in the ad or during the sale. I might just take it back. But I also would never sell a sub-$2k car without saying as-is because no matter how great it’s running at time of sale a car that age/mileage is likely to have some sort of expensive problem lurking.

Good news the seller took it back without any drama. I never saw the original ad or a post about the sales exchange but if t he seller never promised anything about rust /safety then they’d have a decent case to tell you to get lost. If they did say anything like clean/safe/ready- to- daily then yeah I’d be fighting hard for them to take it back. Always save the original ad! Have any other candidates for the wife/kid mobile?
